These Honey Garlic Chickpeas are quick and easy to make as a small snack, side dish, or salad topper.
You could take the time to roast these in the oven for drier, more crunchy results but we have found that tossing them in a hot skillet works just as well and saves quite a bit of time. Cast iron skillets are our favorite, you can find one similar to ours here.

Don’t Waste Your Time
You’ll want to start by draining and rinsing your chickpeas, I typically pour the can into my pasta strainer and just give them a quick rinse. Then, pour them out onto a paper towel to get rid of the excess moisture.
If you’ve searched around for roasted or cooked chickpea recipes you might have noticed that some tell you to peel them, I have never taken the time to peel a whole can of these in my life and don’t plan to start- so don’t worry about that.
Get ’em Cooking
Heat your skillet with 1tbs of olive oil to start then toss in your chickpeas. Top with honey, garlic powder, and pinch of salt and stir.
To be honest here, the measurements are all relative. Sometimes I douse mine in as much honey as I can for a sweeter treat and other days I go heavy on the garlic and throw in some black pepper to make them more savory. It really depends on what you plan to pair them with and your own taste.

If you notice them sticking to the skillet- the honey will burn up if your pan is too hot- add a bit more olive oil.
And that’s it. Like I said, these are so simple. I like to crisp mine until they’re black in spots for extra crunch. You might like them softer, or like goldilocks, perfectly in the middle at a nice golden brown. Pause and try a few as you cook them to choose your preference.
Test Your Own Recipes
These are extremely versatile, if you like spicy you might want to try and add some cayenne pepper or sriracha, if you want a fall feel throw on some cinnamon. Test your own creations and let me know how it goes so I can give ‘em a try!
